Resolving a Bench Warrant in Salem

Do not ignore a bench warrant. It will not go away on its own. Salem bench warrants stay active until the court takes action. Here are your options.

Call the court. Ask about your case. The clerk can tell you what the judge needs. Some judges set a new hearing date. Others may require bail. An attorney can file a motion to quash the bench warrant. This asks the judge to cancel it and set a new court date instead.

Turning yourself in at the Marion County Jail is another option. You will go through booking, but a judge will typically see you within a day or two. This is often faster than waiting to be arrested at a random time. Acting quickly shows the court that you take the matter seriously.
